Scott Hall


Scott and his wife moved to Castlemaine as young teachers in 1970’s and could probably be classed as a local. Scott has returned to university study a couple of times to pursue his lifelong interest in psychology, therapy and human potential.

Scott has variously been a life saver at Kennett River near Lorne, a miner on Groote Eylandt, a tour operator and a radio presenter. In the 1990’s Scott was the Student Welfare Co-ordinator at local schools before his second return to university to develop his career in counselling, therapy and mediation.

Scott’s major interest has always been his family but he has also found time to follow other interests including the relationship between physical health and mental well being. Scott practiced yoga for many years as well as gaining his Black belt in Sen Do Kai karate at age 45.

Since 2013 Scott has developed a passion for the study of neuroscience.


Scott has a Masters of Couple & Relationship Counselling from La Trobe University (2007), a Graduate Diploma of Student Welfare from Melbourne University (1997) and a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution.

Scott is a government accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner as well as a highly qualified and experienced counsellor.

Scott is a Member of the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of Victoria as well as a Member of the Mediators Association of Australia.


Scott has over 14 years experience counselling experience.   Scott uses ‘integrative therapy’ which means he uses and blends a broad range of techniques.  A particular interest is neuroscience and brain plasticity and how it relates to counselling and therapy.

As a former Student Welfare Co-ordinator at two large secondary colleges, Scott also has extensive experience in helping teenagers and parents.

Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner

Scott has practiced as a Family Relationship Advisor and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (mediator) since 2008. He has an outstanding record of helping clients resolve there disputes.
